Our Story

Ruggs Ranch sits in the uplands outside Heppner, Oregon which is an area known for open country, strong bird numbers, and reliable big‑game habitat. The ranch began as a cattle operation and has grown into a destination for hunters who want access to expansive, pristine wild habitat, and experienced guides.

Our wingshooting takes place across thousands of acres where guests pursue Hungarian Partridge, Chukar, Valley Quail, and Pheasant with guides and dogs who know the terrain well. Heppner has been recognized as one of the Top 10 Best Bird Hunting Towns in America, and the quality of the hunting reflects that reputation.

Ruggs Ranch also offers big‑game hunts for elk and mule deer in rugged, scenic country. Whether you come for upland birds or big game, the landscape provides challenge, variety, and memorable days in the field.

Alongside the hunting, Ruggs Ranch is a working cattle ranch where we raise Black Angus and SimAngus. The ranching side of our operation is a core part of who we are and how we care for this land.
